This aromatic resin from the Boswellia sacra tree in Oman is considered the highest grade of frankincense, and the scent is so beautiful it is no wonder it has been highly prized for thousands of years. This green Hojari (from the Al Hajar mountains) used to be reserved only for the Sultan of Oman, but I have procured a small amount to share. The scent has hints of pine, citrus, and eucalyptus. Just as the resin heals a tree and protects its wounds, I feel that it can do the same for our minds and bodies. Frankincense has been an integral part of spiritual and religious ceremonies across many cultures for over 5000 years. Its spiritually cleansing and emotionally healing qualities are universally recognized, and used to enhance meditation and prayer.
This resin can be simply kept in a special container and smelled directly, or it can be ground and burned on charcoal. You can even infuse drinking water or bath water with a piece.
Please be considerate of your usage, as the sustainability of this wild harvest is only maintained if we consume it slowly and in small amounts.
