Returns & Replacements

I do my best to describe each item vividly, but I know that scent can be a very subjective experience. For this reason, I recommend trying samples first so that you know what you like before purchasing a larger bottle. The solid perfumes can also be purchased as sample sizes without lockets.

Full size items may be returned, but samples may not. Returns must be sent back within 7 days of delivery, in their original condition, in their original packaging, and are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
*** This means shipping costs + 20% of order total will NOT be refunded. ***

If there is an issue with your order (incorrect items, missing items, or incomplete/damaged items) I will be happy to provide you with an exchange / replacement. I do not offer exchanges for any other reason. Due to the nature of my products, I cannot resell anything that has already been opened or used.

Ordering

If you need to cancel your order or make any changes, please email jill@forstrangewomen.com immediately after placing your order and I will try to accommodate the request. If the items have already been shipped, orders cannot be cancelled.

Payment

Payment methods accepted: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, and For Strange Women Gift Cards.
Sales tax is added to all orders placed in the state of MO.

What to Expect with Natural Perfume

Natural (botanical) perfumes do not "carry" the way synthetics do.  They stay closer to the body instead of filling up the room. If you make an effort to reduce the faux fragrances in your home and lifestyle, your sensitivity to the intricacies of nature will be reset, and soon you will not want to ever go back to those harsh (and often harmful) chemicals that are in the synthetic fragrances.

Natural perfumes also do not last all day long. It is typical for the scent to be brighter and sharper when you first apply it, followed by 2-5 hours of an evolving, more subdued scent, followed by a drydown that varies in time but is only noticeable on the surface of the skin. Most of my perfumes come in portable containers so that you are able to reapply during the day as desired.

You will also discover that these perfumes smell much different on your skin than out of the bottle. The scents evolve over the course of wearing them, and they have a deep complexity that cannot be found in synthetic fragrances.  Unlike the headache-inducing scents that you will find at the "perfume counters", these are subtle and satisfying to the senses.

Safety and Storage of Products

• Keep perfumes, salts, and lip balms in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight and use only for their intended purpose.

• Avoid eye area and do not consume.

• Consult a physician if you plan to use while pregnant or nursing. Some plant extracts are very powerful, and the aromatherapy could be too strong for infants (just as adult vitamins are too strong for them).

• Shelf life of perfumes if properly stored will last at least 5 years. Lip balm and bath salt shelf life is at least 2 years from the date of purchase. These will all still be good after this period of time, but some of the more delicate essences such as citrus and flower oils will become weakened.
